Bats are nature's way of controlling mosquitoes. One bat can eat up to 600 mosquitoes an hour, and this house can hold between 50 to 75 bats! Rid your yard of a lot of those nasty insects.

Bat House Placement Bat boxes should be hung at least 15' above the ground-- the higher, the better. They are more successful if they have at least 8 hours of sun. The morning sun is most important. Bat houses should face the south or southeast. In the north, paint the roof and upper third of the house brown or black with a latex water base paint. This will help tp warm the box. In the south, you can paint the homes white if there is too much direct sun.
